Often anxiety comes from not completely understanding the laws or the design of this Game of Driving. Clarifying these misunderstandings reduces anxiety.

As we struggle to overcome the fear of driving, the fun does regularly poke its head up through the chaos.

I believe many of us regularly face the fear/fun balance when we drive.

And a vast majority ignore or downplay the fear part for various reasons, which I will discuss at another time.

But the fun is the key here.

But the fun is the key here.

Anxiety can arise from many different sources especially while learning to drive. But along the way, there are moments of fun!

I do not mean to speak the word fun frivolously nor do I intend to downplay the reality of those who hold great fear but if you look closely, mixed in with the fear is fun.

And the fun is important to take note of, important to notice, to see and uncover, Those moments of fun, even when they occur in microseconds amongst the powerful fear, are important. A small pebble in a sea of sand is often a great discovery, something we often cherish, pick up and carry home!

This fear/fun balance, even for myself, is very real when a close call comes or something while driving sparks my concern or I gasp“Oh GOSH, LOOK AT THAT!”

I too routinely acknowledge my own fear/fun balance in this powerful Game called Driving.

And yes my fun is much greater than the rare fear. But the rare fear is very important.
