young man in car bright eyes giving us a thumbs up

The bubble is not only in front. The person behind you is part of your 2000 kg world. If you brake with no warning, sit on the brakes, or drift, you surprise them. Surprised drivers do sudden things. Sudden things close space.

Talking to the car behind you is positioning, timing, and a little predictability. It is not a speech. When the thought of someone behind you makes your hands squeeze, that is information. We take that piece apart. We try ideas. Some we keep. Some we dump. Calm often arrives when the rear stops feeling like an attack and starts feeling like part of the same puzzle.
