YES starting with me at King Edward Station is a big ask considering most driving schools will go right to your home. However for your health and less strain and less stress – starting in a super quiet area is a HUGE component in ensuring SUCCESS on this learning to drive journey.

I strongly advice this to anyone learning to drive with or without anxiety! Especially important for stress, fear and anxiety issues.

Full test prep with Cooper your cell Phone Study assessor/examiner who worked on the applied research studies YEARS before it became law. This $1000 program gives you 5 driving lessons for a full 90 minutes driving, plus he often runs over when he is deep into an important discussion. Start with an accurate full assessment, and an action plan. Plus four more session to master the material,. Plus use his car on the test day. A great package. 

Offering packages is a common practice in the driving school marketplace however I do like the idea that we are setting in a learners mind the promise or the idea or the expectation that you can get ready for a test in a given block of time. Everyone is different and the hours needed to achieve a calm relaxed confident presentation of your driving skills in front of a judging government official needs time for your brain and body to assimilate the required knowledge and skills in order to present a safe pass. However it is a common request to have a road test package so here it is 🙂

SHORT TERM MEMORY MISTAKE Most common error for both tests – class 5 and class 7

• “Cooper please meet me the day before the test and teach me all the TIPS, then I will use your car the next day for the real test” I SAY NO NO NO.
• Filling your short term memory with a huge list of details will not get you thru these tests.
• Additionally learning a new cultures ways plus ICBC specifics is a complex undertaking
• I know these exams very well – I would love to assist you with my well thought thorough professional approach.
• Or just hire me for one private drive and let me truly show you the challenge you face. 
• It is very unique this British Columbia exam and I have seen many assessment. This one is uniquely specific. 
• It is wise to not underestimate this challenge.
• The earlier you hear the details of this test plus a listing of your habits that need changed, the better chance you have of preparing and being successful. This is not a test to be underestimated.

Communication Skill Sets: Mr. Cooper scored significantly above average on accuracy (the degree to which the information or ability has been accurately depicted for the learner). One of the most important skills required to enhance learning is the ability to communicate successfully to the learner. When instructors facilitate learning well they create an atmosphere that allows for maximum sustained learning. This is referred to in this profile as interaction (the ability to create both the physical and psychological environment with suitable activities where specific skills and cognitions have a high possibility of successful transfer) and Mr. Cooper scored extremely above average on this variable and this skill was most prevalent in the area of actively coaching while the candidate was driving. In the area of flexibility (the ability to take unplanned learning opportunities and maximize their potential through effective strategies and sensitive dialogue) Mr. Cooper scored significantly above average which was helpful for the student specifically in the area of learning to deal with unplanned events and taking them in stride.

Teaching Technical Expertise: Mr. Cooper scored significantly above average in assessment (the ability to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the learner in the context of the activity set up by the instructor) where accuracy requires the most improvement. In the area of intervention (facilitating specific learnings for the student, traditionally referred to as teaching) Mr. Cooper scored significantly above average with his interaction skills being the strongest aspect of this technical component.on this variable and this skill was most prevalent in the area of a ctively coaching while the candidate was driving. In the area of flexibility Feedback and follow-up (giving information regarding current skill levels and suggesting possible strategies to enhance learning) was scored significantly above average as well. This instructor has high overall consistency in his teaching and does a nice job of delineating the areas of assessment, treatment and feedback distinctly so learnings can more easily be understood by students.

REFERRED BY COOPER. I understand that money is a huge part of learning to drive. Because of this maybe I can assist you a bit if my rates seem too high. Contact me and I can refer you to a junior trainer I know well who operates his own fully legal and registered driving service at $150 for 90 minute lessons. Or $140 per session for a ten pack. Maybe this will help 🙂 Mixing in this referral while working with Cooper is also a GREAT STRATEGY to get more exposure to the learning process. Whatever works let us do it!

I believe that any and all exposure to different cars, different opinions on driving or learning is valuable! Give yourself as much exposure as you can before setting out on your own. Even low quality training helps because it sets you on a journey to find higher quality.

This life long life and death driving skill in my opinion should not go to the lowest quality teacher.
