two cars hit each other

-2 minutes into the start of the driving exam

-turns right onto a busy 50 km/h single-lane busy road with an average flow speed of 60 km/h or more

-immediately, you follow the car ahead of you 1/2 second to 3/4 second following distance

-the front car stops directly in front of you on the roadway in the centre of the lane

-the front car has no turn signals indicating its intent

-however, there is a single parking space to our right in the adjacent parking lane

STOP AND ASK YOURSELF THESE QUESTIONS

WHAT DO YOU DO? WHO IS RIGHT? WHO IS WRONG? WHO IS BREAKING THE LAW RIGHT NOW?

WHO IS CLOSE TO BREAKING THE LAW? WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THINGS ARE SAFE AND LEGAL RIGHT NOW? WHO IS MOVING RIGHT NOW?

STOP – UP TO THIS POINT, YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG!

-you turn your wheels hard left and move forward in an attempt to move quickly around the front car

-your left front wheel breaks the center dividing the yellow line

-you stop because there is oncoming traffic approaching

-the front car continues to reverse into the parallel park bay, coming dangerously close to your front right quarter panel

-the car to your rear car blasts its horn

-the front car reverses into the parking space

-you return to your lane and proceed forward
