You are allowed to stop.

That sentence surprises people.

They think once the lesson starts, or once the light turns green, or once the person behind them honks, they have to go.

No.

You can pull over. You can wait. You can take the next block. You can sit in the passenger seat today. You can say this is too much for this minute.

Say no is a skill.

It is not quitting. It is management.

Driving is a huge management job. Money. Time. Practice. Who sits beside you. How much noise you let in. When you book the test.

If you cannot say no, the road will say it for you later. Harder.

We practice finding a safe place to stop. We practice naming the 1-to-10 number. If you are at a 9, we do not pretend you are at a 3.

Your body already knows. Listen. Then choose.

Calm is not “always go.” Calm is knowing you can stop.

I can drive includes I can wait.
