Why do the majority of clients learning to drive not write anything down, nor take notes while learning to drive?

Recently I talked about the suggested hour tracking ICBC suggests when learning to drive, plus a suggested practise checklist and experience log.

Sadly I do not know the answer to why most do not do more work after the incar lessons.

However I can speculate and suggest what is replacing the note taking and study.

  • Life is demanding.
  • Work and money is very important these days and consumes most time.
  • Paying a good driving instructor is expensive and helps manage the learning, so many do not feel they should invest more time.
  • Driving for many is a simple, a get it done event
  • Many feel they do not need to learn any more than just steering and learning while actually doing the driving.
