Introducing a new driver to a bustling, intricate roadway can be a daunting experience. There’s an overwhelming array of factors to keep in mind—almost too many to count. It’s like stepping into a whirlwind, encapsulated within a 2000 kg mass of steel hurtling forward at high speeds, alongside other cars zooming by, including massive trucks. And if that’s not enough, add rain to the mix, and you’re being told to accelerate! It feels like madness!

I fear to drive. I dread to learn. Traffic terrifies me.

Confront your fears.

My experience in assisting numerous apprehensive drivers conquer their anxieties and gain the confidence to drive independently has unveiled a crucial secret.

Before attempting complex driving situations, two essential skills must be mastered. Surprisingly, most instructors and learners neglect these skills. You should become proficient in these areas before navigating traffic.

Even worse is being thrust into the TERROR of TRAFFIC prematurely, without possessing these TWO FUNDAMENTAL SKILLS required for survival!

Part of the secret is to AVOID traffic while you acquire these skills.

Your intuition is acutely aware of this. That’s why you’re apprehensive about going out!

And honestly, that’s entirely justified!

  • 5 am is correct.
  • Better yet, early Saturday or Sunday morning or on a holiday!
  • Learn when there’s minimal to no traffic.
  • Enjoy unrestricted access to all the road signs, markings, and traffic lights.
  • Familiarize yourself with the entire driving landscape.
  • Cultivate these two essential skill sets in the peaceful early morning hours.
  1. CAR CONTROL and 2. FULL COMPLIANCE WITH ROAD SIGNS & LAWS
  • These are the two fundamental skills everyone should master before venturing into the chaotic world of traffic.
  • Far too many individuals have learned to drive without honing these two core skills, which, in my opinion, contributes to the high accident rates we’re all burdened with.
  • Now you’re privy to the secret.
  • Will I spot you at 5 am?
  • Give me a friendly nod as you pass by, okay?

Oh, hold on! Oh, hold on! Did you know it’s frowned upon to wave during a driving test? (hence a nod – or toot – I love to toot)

Is that really true?

So part of the secret is to REMOVE the traffic while you are learning.
