Parking lots, driveways, alleyways, malls, gas stations, any roadway that is off the streets that’s not really a clearly marked street or place to drive is a SLOW SLOW SLOW land.

These places cars bike people can walk move in all and any direction. And they do often without any regard for the 1500 kg machines’ direction of movement or signals. It seems many are completely oblivious to the mass chaos as they simply go straight to their own destination.

360 is a scan to keep track of all this movement with the intent of AVOIDING all this conflict.

On parking maneuvers, during the test, you must 360 BEFORE you reverse, or before you make any move into possible conflict.

If you stop and adjust the car’s position, again here you must repeat the 360 again, and when you reverse again you must do yet another 360.

And again for each movement, you make both forward and reverse.

I did these 360’s but I still failed! WHY?

While I was making my reverse move another car came past me as I was turning my ass into the parking lane and the EXAMINER SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES!

The other car drove past and I continued my move reversing into the parking lane.

WHY DID I FAIL?

You failed because you failed TO YIELD RIGHT OF WAY to the passing car.

THE NOSE OF YOUR CAR SWUNG OUT INTO THE LANEWAY WHERE THE OTHER CAR WAS DRIVING PAST.

YOUR CAR NOSE WAS VERY CLOSE TO HITTING THE PASSING CAR SO THE EXAMINER SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES TO STOP THE COLLISION.

You failed for this dangerous action.

BUT BUT I DID MY 360!

So I ask the driver “Did you see the approaching car?”

They answered. “Yes!”

And then what did you do? “I continued to reverse into my spot and the nose of my car swung out into the pathway of the approaching car!”

HELLO!
