One-Day Insurance Made Easy

  1. Find an ICBC Insurance Office
They’re widely available, often within walking distance in most cities.
  2. Bring ID and Vehicle Information
Bring your driver’s license and a document with your car’s details, like a past insurance policy. This will confirm the car’s serial number and your insurance history.
  3. Choose Coverage
Select your start and end time and pay $30-$40 for a Temporary Operation Permit. Coverage typically lasts 24 hours.
  4. Apply Stickers
    You’ll get two stickers:
  • Front Window: A small sticker at the bottom.
  • Back Window: A large sticker with clear, bold letters for visibility.

That’s it—you’re ready to go with legal one-day coverage!

I found the process very simple and very quick.

CALL ICBC (604) 661-2800 to get the facts please.

exmple of the large letters on the day permit
Large permit numbers make it easy for police to see that you are legally insured.
