In today’s typical teaching methods, there’s a heavy emphasis on rote memorization, treating the learning process like a simple transaction of data between one brain and another. This approach reduces education to an assembly-line process where every learner is given the same prepackaged information, regardless of their unique perspective or internal experience. Sadly, this transactional model robs learners of the joy that comes from truly understanding and mastering a skill, bypassing the intricate process of growth, self-discovery, and those pivotal “aha” moments where real learning happens.

By focusing solely on the transfer of identical information, these methods erase the individuality of each learner, ignoring their personal history, experiences, and innate uniqueness. The richness and complexity of each person’s learning journey are overlooked in favour of a one-size-fits-all approach as if the learner’s mind is just another blank slate to be filled. This rigid, impersonal system strips away the wonder of individual achievement and the heartbeat of learning that makes education a deeply personal and fulfilling experience. Instead of fostering growth, it says, “Here is the package, now take it and leave,” leaving behind the true potential for meaningful, transformative learning.
