The horn is right there in the middle of your steering wheel.
Moving your thumb a little activates the horn.
Examiners require you toot it at the beginning of a road test.
No horn, you cannot go on the test.
It’s a safety device that’s required in your car.
SO WHY DO NEAR EVERY NEW DRIVER I WORK WITH REFUSE, RESIST AND FREAK OUT WHEN I ASK THEM TO TOOT THE HORN?
WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?
During my bus class 4 training here in Vancouver, I tooted the horn to get an opposing driver’s eyes to look my way. The bus instructor freaked out on me and screamed, ‘DON’T USE THE xxxxx HORN!”
Wow! I was so surprised. It was such a fantastic reaction that I tooted two more times throughout the training to confirm the instruction. And yes, each time, I was scolded for using the safety device.
