learning not to join parties is a skill

A very important skill new drivers must learn is to NOT JOIN THE PARTIES. Learn to keep away as things get congested and complex.

Often I will watch the series of events ahead of us evolve as my driver continues to approach the ever-increasing complex situation. I refer to this as DON’T JOIN THE PARTY which is a very common habit for new drivers.

A car pulling out of the gas station to the far right and entering the closest driving lane caused the cars ahead in our passing lane to slow abruptly because the lane to the left of them was filled with left-turning vehicles.

We continued to move at the original flow of traffic speed, obviously, my driver is not seeing the gas station car enter the roadway. A classic DON’T JOIN THE PARTY habit I often see.

I step in, and slow us down immediately.

Calm Driving comes after learning to DON’T JOIN THE PARTIES.
