Night Driving Needs a Daytime Template First well before you attempt to navigate black background night time driving.
Night Driving Needs a Daytime Foundation
In this video, I talk about the massive danger of the blackness surrounding you at night when driving. Even in well-lit areas or with headlights from other vehicles, everything in between those lights is pure black. And here’s the truth: the human eye cannot see in black. We see nothing in complete darkness—our eyes need light, period.
To be skilled at night driving, you first need to master awareness during the day. This means learning to be 100% tuned in to everything around your car, which takes practice and focus. Building this level of awareness requires understanding your target and developing smooth, intentional eye movements. It’s a skill anyone can learn—and you should. After all, you’ll spend decades behind the wheel. Why not be exceptional at it?
Every time you drive, you should be sharpening your vision and awareness. If you’re not improving, let me be clear: you’re getting worse. There’s no middle ground—no “I’ve got it, so I’m done” option. You’re either getting better or slipping. So, make your choice.
