20 car lengths before the red car appeared, I watched it rolling thru the parking lot approaching our empty lane. The car was not jumping quickly into the lane space ahead of us that was open.
They were moving slowly effectively timing the conflict with us perfectly, seemingly not seeing us coming. A bit odd.
My driver didn’t seem to notice at this 20 carlength distance.
- They did not look left
- nor to the rear preparing for a lane change,
- nor did my driver toot, or prepare to toot to warn the not-looking red car, that we were coming.
- nor brake lights early to warn of slow down
- nor signal left to gain assistance with finding a safe space for a lane change
We continued forward past 20 carlengths and past 10 carlengths right up to 0 carlengths.
I asked the driver “You had a meter distance between us and the confused driver. Why didn’t you get closer?
