My Work with Transport Canada Ergonomics Applied Research Studies and the Road Safety Educators Association Grounded me in the Research On Road Safety which I have been reading regularly ever since. Much of the research was reviewed when I was certified to teach incar and GLP classroom here in British Columbia.

SITUATIONAL AWare versus REACTION

Our brains can distrot our vision]

drivng is all abut vision. Vision problems directly relate to risk when driving

Fatigure or any attentional distration is deadly when in a car

autopilot our powerful brains are a danger you must always be on edge for

familiarity breeds contempt

pack mentailty can train you to atkae signtificantly more risk then you normally would accept

emotinoalcalm the internal cpu has a major effect on your safely when driving

social pressure acting as a distration has exploded in the last 3 years. WHY?

New drives are NOT experienced drivers so please stop treating them as copycat drivers

low quality minimally trained driving instructors  tcan only produce similar drivers

CLOSE CALLS

are the greatest teacher – are you listening?

INCREASED CAR CONTROL SKILLS is very important but can be dangerous to some brains – This fits into my arugument that new drivers are not experienced drivers and some information should not be presented to new drivers.

Novice Drivers are not Experienced Drivers and need very specific requirements. Additionally there are many Naive Drivers also needing a different training.

Vancouvers Most Qualified and Transparent Driving Instructor

G O find the proof for yourself I challenge you.

Search 5 driving school website search for “driving school vacnouver qulificaitons or certification”

YMy reserarch showed nothing specific published but you will find many grandiose words and  zero proofo and many reference sto the basic ICBC requirements. Most have 4 weeks of training, and they have a deep research based understnding og how to stay out of tourble?  Did anyone ytake more professional eduation beyond the basics?   Or is this truly NOT a profession.. And then there is me.

SECRET QUALIFICATIONS

In British Columbia, all driving instructors must be licensed by the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC), which requires a clean driving record, at least three years of driving experience with a Class 5 license (for car instructors), a criminal background check, and completion of an ICBC-approved instructor training course.

However, most driving schools do not publish detailed, individual certifications (e.g., specific courses, years of experience, or additional credentials) for their trainers on their websites. They often rely on general statements like “ICBC-licensed,” “certified,” or “experienced,”

THE USE LOTS OF FANCY WORDS

  • “Our Instructors exceed ICBC requirements and have decades of driving experience… highly qualified and cater to the learning needs of each student.”

  • “Our driver trainers are top performers”

  • “Our instructors are patient and skilled… wealth of experience.”

  • “Expert instructors” providing “comprehensive training.”

  • “Patient and experienced instructors.”

NOT ONE LISTED QULAIFICATIONS OR CERTIFICATION OR TRAINING PROOF

NOT ONE?

WHY?

Contrast with Competitors: As shown in the research, none of the Vancouver-area driving schools publish specific certifications for their instructors. They rely on vague statements like “ICBC-licensed” or “experienced,” which only meet the minimum legal requirement in BC (19 years old, 3 years of driving experience, and 13 days of instructor training).
