Welcome to Cooper’s Advanced “Master Calm Driving” Program
At Cooper’s Master Calm Driving, I go beyond the basics of driving instruction to offer a transformative learning experience that builds confidence, control, and lifelong safety. Unlike traditional driver education programs, my approach is deeply rooted in modern neuroscience and decades of experience. It focuses on empowering you to conquer anxiety, overcome internal obstacles, and truly master the art of driving.
My unique methodology integrates practical driving skills with an in-depth exploration of the beliefs and values that influence your driving behaviour. Becoming a skilled driver starts with understanding and addressing the core issues that can create fear and hesitation
on the road. By fostering an environment where you feel heard and understood, I help you break through these barriers and gain a deeper sense of
self-awareness and control.
My services are tailored to meet the needs of two main audiences:
1. Highly Stressed, Fearful Drivers: Whether you are a seasoned driver struggling with anxiety or a beginner who finds driving daunting, my personalized training will help you navigate your fears and build confidence
behind the wheel.
2. Beginning Drivers Focused on Safety: For those just starting their driving journey, who are most concerned about safety and understanding the importance of not causing harm, I provide a comprehensive program that goes beyond standard rules and tests. I focus on teaching the realities of driving, emphasizing offensive driving strategies and real-world safety.
It is important to note that my program is not designed for those who are solely interested in passing the driving test. If your primary goal is to pass the test without regard for the depth of danger and risk management, I recommend seeking another driving school. My opinion is that the majority of the industry is heavily focused on test preparation, or following their dogmatic formula to copycatting experienced drivers. I do neither of these things.
In fact, I have an agreement with the government not to teach the driving test but to teach safe driving.
I also realize that my words echo the typical marketing words many schools use to catch learners, but I
tell you here boldly, unhidden and truthfully, my methodology is grounded in decades of real experience in both road safety and effective behaviour change management. Unlike many schools that focus solely on test preparation—some even employing former examiners—I emphasize comprehensive, real-world driving skills
. My background includes senior assessor for Transport Canada, where my work contributed to the worldwide ban on cell phone use while driving. This experience underscores some of my deep expertise as an assessor and my commitment
to genuine, effective driving education.
I adhere to the strict code of conduct the government outlines for all driver education in B.C. which requires me not to speak negatively about the government, the testing process, other driving schools, or the industry
as a whole. However, this code of conduct does not prevent me from stating the facts as I see them or sharing my opinions—while carefully avoiding negativity or damaging the overall reputation of the industry. This balance can be challenging however I remain dedicated to providing honest and thorough driving education to you as best I can.
Code of Conduct Sec. 5:
Licensees will conduct themselves professionally and strive to strengthen and uphold public confidence in the driver training industry. This means that they will not:
– Conduct themselves in a way that could diminish the reputation of the driver training industry, other licensees, or ICBC or its agents.
Examples of misconduct include:
– Speaking negatively about another licensee to gain a customer’s business.
– Making representations that may be damaging to the reputation of ICBC or its agents.
Code of Conduct Sec. 6:
Licensees will support road safety and the provision of driver licensing services to British Columbians. They will not undermine road safety by disrupting the testing and licensing of drivers.
Examples of misconduct include:
– Teaching customers the test route rather than teaching how to drive safely.
– Using a device to record an ICBC road test route or anyone taking a driver examination.
– Distributing, circulating, or publishing video footage taken of driving tests from in-car cameras.
– Sharing photos, audio or video recordings, drawings, notes, or other representations that could undermine the integrity of ICBC testing.
My training program is designed to ensure that you achieve far far more than just passing a test. I aim to equip you with the skills and mindset necessary to stay clear of danger for life. My emphasis on lifelong safety and control
is what sets us apart from traditional driver education courses.
With Cooper’s Advanced Driver Education, you will experience a profound shift in your approach to driving. My goal is to help you reach that moment of true mastery, where you feel fully in control and confident in your abilities
. Passing the test will become just a formality, a brief bump in the road along your lifelong journey that prioritizes safety and self-assurance.
