Our workplace is our driver training vehicle. Our clients perform the appropriate COVID-19 screening before they enter the vehicle:

  • We will ask each client whether they exhibit any flu-like symptoms (coughing, shortness of breath, fever) or are otherwise feeling unwell.
  • We will ask whether the client has returned from another area within the last 14 days.
  • We will ask if the client has had close contact in the past 14 days with someone diagnosed with, or is presumed to have, COVID-19.

We will refuse entry to anyone who appears to be ill or cannot answer the questions positively or refuse to respond. The lesson is rescheduled. Clients will be met outside the driver’s side of the vehicle and provided with:

  • Hand sanitizer
  • Face mask if they do not have their own (optional not required for driver)
  • PPE are worn/applied by the instructor before you get into the car.
  • The instructor thoroughly sanitizes the vehicle between clients.
  • The instructor is responsible for cleaning the surfaces in and about the vehicle
  • The instructor will do the cleaning in between each client.
The sanitized surfaces will include:
  • Outside door handle
  • Inside door handle
  • Seat adjustment controls
  • Seatbelt components
  • Mirror adjustment controls
  • All electronic touch points on the inside of the door
  • The steering wheel, including adjustment controls
  • The signal light assembly
  • The headlight switch area
  • The wiper area
  • Heater/air conditioning controls
  • Dashboard area
  • Rear view mirror
  • Car Keys
  • Pen
Barriers & partitions:

The instructor in a driver training vehicle must always be able, in an emergency, to be in a position to apply corrective steering to the car (i.e., a steering wheel grab). Therefore, a barrier between the client and the instructor is not a feasible option.

Safety Plan concerning our driver training vehicle:

Considering that clients and instructors are within 2 meters (6 feet) of each other, all instructors will wear a mask. We encourage gloves if you wish to wear them as well.

Additionally the client will need to sign a written release form outlining the COVID-19 policy and the company policy on their first driving lesson.
